Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series Pt 3A/5: Cold Weather Clothing

Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series Pt 3A/5: Cold Weather Clothing

In Part 3A of my Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series I discuss my preferences on clothing in the cooler months of the year. Part 3B will consist of my clothing choices for the warmer months and I will release that later in the year.

As mentioned, I am not presenting anything groundbreaking, rather I am giving an objective look at the available options out there today so that someone new to the outdoors or has been out of it for a while will benefit from this video. Hopefully it will also help you maximize your systems efficiency.

Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series Pt 2/5: Shelter and Sleeping Gear

Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series Pt 2/5: Shelter and Sleeping Gear

In Part 2 of my Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series we discuss Shelter and Sleeping Gear. I thought I would dive in to this subject first, because it will vary the most between person to person due to preferences, region and experience level. I'm not going to detail techniques here, those can be found in other videos. Instead I will take a broader look at different shelter types and explain my preferences. For sleeping gear I will go over some basics between down and synthetic sleeping bags and also provide some tips for staying warm at night.

Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series Pt 1/5: Introduction

Its been a long time coming but I am finally rolling out a comprehensive look at my gear load out for my extended trips in the outdoors. In Part One of my Bivouac Gear Load-Out Series I lay the ground work of how my system works. Definition of "Bivouac": a temporary encampment in an un-sheltered area. I chose this title because that word most closely defines the style of camping that I do, but labels IMO are kind of counter-intuitive as it relates to bush craft. Unfortunately, in the world of YouTube, videos must have titles.

In the introduction I cover my operating assumptions and detail things to keep in mind as we move along through the series. The following parts of the series:

Part 2: Shelter and Sleeping Gear
Part 3A: Clothing (Cold Weather)
Part 4: Water Food and Cookware
Part 5: Tools and Equipment

Please watch the introduction in its entirety as it is the foundation for the future videos.
